As your former councillor, Elizabeth Slade says that one of the best things about having been a District Councillor was listening to the people of Castle ward and helping them with their problems, drawing on experience gained in a diverse career that involved working in Television, Radio, the NHS and the National Trust.
Serving as MDDC ward member from 2015 to 2019, Elizabeth helped local residents with a wide range of issues including planning, litter, street lighting, the Town Leat and parking. She has also been a Town Councillor for the ward since 2011 and is proud to have served as Tiverton’s Mayoress for the past two years.
She says “I think Castle Ward has been under represented following the resignation of the former councillor. I am keen to take up the reins once again and ensure that residents receive the breadth of service they deserve.”
Elizabeth is very positive about the District Council’s plans for the Town Centre Regeneration. “I think our town has a great future,” she says “The council’s plans for the Pannier Market, Fore Street and Phoenix Lane will make a huge difference in making Tiverton more vibrant and prosperous. I have lived here for nearly twelve years and look forward to seeing things develop for the benefit of all. ”
